Abstract:

The construction of national mining parks represents a vital approach to the recreational utilization of mining heritage resources. Investigating recreation satisfaction and its influencing factors provides valuable scientific and practical insights for enhancing recreational use. Using Koktokay Rare Metals National Mining Park in Altay Prefecture, Xinjiang, China as a case study, this research establishes an evaluation index system for recreation satisfaction in national mining parks, employs a structural equation model to analyze influencing factors, and applies importance-performance analysis (IPA) to explore differences in recreation satisfaction and influence levels based on 2022 field survey data. The findings are as follows: (1) The recreation satisfaction evaluation system for Koktokay Rare Metals National Mining Park comprises five dimensions. Tourists rated these dimensions from highest to lowest as follows: industrial tourism resources, park landscape environment, spatial layout planning, public infrastructure, and recreational activity experience. (2) The five dimensions—recreational activity experience, spatial layout planning, industrial tourism resources, public infrastructure, and park landscape environment—have significant positive impacts on recreation satisfaction in Koktokay Rare Metals National Mining Park. (3) Koktokay Rare Metals National Mining Park excels in the park’s landscape environment. However, considerable differences exist between satisfaction and importance in dimensions such as industrial tourism resources, recreational activity experience, and public infrastructure. Similarly, varying degrees of satisfaction and importance are observed within the spatial layout planning dimension.
