Abstract: The farmers’ per-capita net income is one of the important indicators, which can reflect the development of rural economy, and measure household living standard of rural residents. Using statistical data of Ningxia Province,China from 1985 to 2010,applying Geoda095i and clustering analysis, the paper studied regional variation, evolution patterns and driving mechanism of the farmers’ per-capita net income growth in Ningxia. The results show as follows:Low-Low regions locate in the southern mountains of Ningxia, the distribution like a “C”,the major reasons for the social development in this region involve the rapid population growth, serious soil erosion, sever land overload, and weak industrial base. Low-High regions locate in the center-west region of Ningxia. Though the region has better foundation of agriculture, the industrialization is still slow. High-High regions locate in the northern plain of Ningxia. Relied on advantage of Yellow River irrigation and productive farmland, the area has been an important component of agricultural production bases in the northwest of China. It was found that the geography district, conditions for agricultural production, service income mode and area policy evolves account for a large part of the difference in farmer income. Ningxia should also provide major supports for rural incomes through optimizing agricultural area distribution, adjusting agricultural and industry structure by expanding leading enterprises, developing agricultural industrialization’s management, and improving the quality of farmer culture.
