Residential preference to housing location in Lanzhou

Abstract: The paper investigated local people's residential preference and the satisfaction to residential surroundings with interview-investigation and questionnaire-investigation and then analyzed the effect on the real estate market of Lanzhou City. Gansu Province China. The results show that (1) the advantage of communication price of the house location of the house education of the children are the most important factors to the residential preference in Lanzhou City; (2) there are weak relationships between income occupation age and residential preference; (3) over a half of the investigated residents prefer to live in Chengguan District of Lanzhou City about a quarter of the investigated residents prefer to live in Anning District; (4) the urban residential space is centralized to the individual center of Chengguan Qilihe District Anning District and Xigu District and does not appear the evident tendency of suburbanization. In the recent years, the construction of the residential houses is concentrated to the center of each district therein the residential land use in Chengguan Qilihe District is increasing inside the scope of six kilometers to the district center and reducing outside the scope of six kilometers to district center; the resident land uses in Sigu District and Anning District are increasing inside the scope of two kilometers to district center and reducing outside the scope of two kilometers to district center
