Abstract: The volume of water resources of Xinjiang is about 857×10 m³, which consists of 794×10⁸m³ of surfacewater resources and 63×10 m³ of ground water resources.But at the present time, the amount of available andunrepeated water resources involving the requirement of environment, which can be controlled and used by vari-ous means, is about 680×10⁸m³ upon condition that it is reasonable in economy and feasible for technique andallowed by environment to develop water resources. The problems of ecology environment and the primary prob-lems caused by utilizing water resources in agricultural development are all analyzed and the suggestions for utilizing water resources rationally and developing ecotype agriculture of Xinjiang are put forward in this article.
