Abstract: Taking the harmonious relationship between the land development intensity and land supply capacity in Gansu Province, China as the research object, the spatial-temporal pattern differentiation and the situation of spatial coordination degree of land use of Gansu Province from 2001 to 2016 were studied in order to provide reference frame to the coordinated promotion of land development and utilization, social economy and resources and environment. The index calculation model, coordination degree model and R/S analysis method were used in this study. The results showed as follows: (1) The land development intensity of Gansu Province shows an upward trend, and the change range of land supply capacity is small which is basically kept at around 0.4. (2) The spatial coordination degree of land use shows a rise and then decline trend from time perspective, and there is an increasing spatial distribution from the Hexi Corridor to the eastern and southern Gansu Province. Moreover, the spatial coordination degree of land use in Hexi region is unstable and the coordination level is low. (3) The Hurst index of spatial coordination degree of land use in all regions is greater than 0.5.In the future, the spatial coordination degree of land use will continue with the change patterns in the past. Among them, the sustainability is stronger in Zhangye City but relatively weak in other regions. On the whole, the spatial-temporal differentiation of spatial coordination degree of land use in Gansu Province is still obvious. It is necessary to clarify the development orientation of the cities in order to meet the needs of land development and utilization in the future, and to control the intensity of land use development under the constraints of resources and environment.
