Abstract: Ecological security is one of the foundations of regional security, and is the basis of sustainable development. Regional ecological security includes the natural ecological security, the economic ecological security and social ecological security. Fragile ecological environment and oasis desertification make the arid area oasis ecological security have the important position, and it is an important field where the regional ecological security evaluation theory can be constructed. Ecological security problems of arid areas oasis is typical and highlighted,it is ideal object for regional ecological security assessment. Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps(short for Xinjiang Corps) is located in arid area oases of Xinjiang. And it is one of the largest reclamation farm in China. It is necessary to study ecological security of Xinjiang Corps. To study the eco-security of arid areas oases, some data of the natural component in Xinjiang Corps can be extracted from TM and HJ1A-CCD1 image of 2010 in Xinjiang, and combined with the weather, environmental and social statistics, the ecological security index (ESII) system includes 25 indices for Xinjiang Corps and was built up with the pressure-state-response (PSR) model. The weights of the indices were determined by analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and using integrating index evaluation method, different division was taken as a case study and its ecological security situation was assessed quantitatively. The results show as follows: (1) As far as ecological pressures,PI of Division 7 is the weakest,PI of Division 14 is the strongest. As far as the system state,[SI] of Division 4 is the best,SI of Division 13 is the worst. As far as the system response,RI of Division 8 is the best,[RI] of Division 14 is the worst. (2) there are 4 Divisions which are Ⅱ security (Division 4,Division 6,Division 7,Division 8,ESII is 0.555 1,0.598 6,0.563 9 and 0.625 5 respectively);there are 7 Divisions which are Ⅲ security(Division 1,Division 2,Division 3,Division 5,Division 9,Division10,Division 12,ESII is 0.517 6,0.515 2,0.473 6,0.504 6,0.515 3,0.466 7,0.504 2 respectively);there are 2 Divisions which are Ⅳ security (Division 13,Division 14,[ESII] is 0.385 8 and 0.364 2),they account for 32.84%,56.47%,10.69% of land area of Xinjiang Corps. (3) The regional ecological security can be effectively evaluated by using RS,GIS and AHP. Finally, based on evaluation results and status of Xinjiang Corps, this paper puts forward some suggestions on the construction and the management of the ecological environment.

Key words: ecological security, pressure-state-response (PSR) model, AHP, Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps
