Abstract: Based on the analysis of Tajikistan’s overall economic development level，industrial structure，infrastructure construction and people's living standards，the paper analyzed and evaluated of Tajikistan’s city level and development trend with index of population urbanization，selected 13 indicators from 3 aspects of economy urbanization，population urbanization and life quality urbanization，constructed the comprehensive evaluation index system of Tajikistan and the other Central Asian countries’ urbanization level，and carried out the comprehensive evaluation and comparative analysis. The results showed as follows：（1） during the period of 2000 -2010 Tajikistan urbanization level is relatively low and with slow growth，and the population urbanization rate remains at around 26.5%，which is far below the world average level；（2） in 2009 Tajikistan city comprehensive level is only 9.64%，which is the lowest in the five Central Asian countries. The main reason the phenomena is the low level of economic development，the insufficient capability of attract foreign investment，slow industrial economic growth，the backward development of the tertiary industry，poor infrastructure facilities，slow population growth and other restricting factors.
