Abstract:

Clarifying the collaborative evolution mechanism between the digital economy and tourism economy resilience provides a critical path for achieving regional industrial structure optimization and resilience enhancement, and holds strong significance for promoting regional high-quality development. Based on panel data from five provinces and autonomous regions in northwest China from 2011 to 2022, this paper comprehensively applies the entropy method, the Haken model, and the geographical detector method to systematically analyze the collaborative relationship and driving mechanism between the digital economy and tourism economy resilience systems. The results show that (1) The composite system’s overall collaboration level is trending upward. As the leading variable, the digital economy dominates the collaborative evolution process, but the tourism economic resilience has a weak dragging effect (control variable=0.146). (2) The collaborative degree between the digital economy and tourism economy resilience undergoes three stages in time sequence, “sprouting” (2011—2016), “climbing” (2017—2020), and “consolidation” (2021—2022), and forms a gradient pattern with Shaanxi Province leading, Gansu Province and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in the middle, and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Qinghai Province lagging. (3) Among the external driving factors, transportation conditions and the level of financial development are the core forces, and government support and the industrial structure play a significant role in specific periods. Therefore, the northwest region should strengthen digital infrastructure development, promote the “transportation-finance” dual-wheel drive, and implement differentiated policies to enhance regional collaborative development.
