Arid Land Geography sponsored by Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography was included in Scopus

Recently, the editorial department of Arid Land Geography, a Chinese-language journal sponsored by the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, received a notice from the Scopus Journal Evaluation Support Department that Arid Land Geography was officially included in the Scopus database after a rigorous evaluation by the Scopus Content Selection and Advisory Committee (CSAB). This is another important progress made after the impact factor of the journal digitization platform construction of Arid Land Geography has been greatly improved.

"Arid Land Geography" was founded in 1978, mainly published in arid and semi-arid areas of physical geography, hydrology and water resources, resource development and utilization, environmental change, climate, meteorology, disaster and prevention, arid areas and the interaction between the atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, lithosphere and human activities, especially in the field of resources and environment of major scientific issues research and results.

In order to establish Arid Land Geography as a brand academic journal with typical arid land characteristics, Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography has carried out a comprehensive rectification of the construction of digital platform for journal submission and review, processing process for submission and review, publication cycle and review system construction, etc., laying a solid foundation for further enhancing the academic influence of the journal. The inclusion of Scopus database has a positive role in promoting the international visibility and dissemination of Arid Land Geography.

The Scopus database is the world's largest abstract and citation database, containing more than 23,000 academic journals from more than 5,000 publications worldwide, covering a comprehensive overview of global research in science, technology, medicine, social sciences, arts and humanities, and providing intelligent tools for tracking, analyzing, and visualizing research. Up to now, the English academic journals (Journal of Arid Land, Regional Sustainability) and the Chinese academic journals (Arid Zone Research and Arid Land Geography) sponsored by Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography have all been included in Scopus database.
