Abstract: Loulan(Kroraina)Ancient Country is an important transportation junction on the ancient Silk Road and it is a stronghold linking ancient China with the central and the western Asia countries. The cultural relics having words of the Loulan time were mostly found by foreign explorers rather than by Chinese scholars and were mostly drifted overseas. Therefore, it is difficult to understand the ancient environment and traffic conditions of the ancient Silk Road in Loulan time. A small bucket-shaped bronze seal with Chinese characters was found at about 7.5 km south of the Loulan city in an investigation in 2016. It is believed to be a "Dou Jian Feng" (hopperseal) according to its shape and the casting characters. It is made of red copper. There are four official script Chinese characters "Guan Lv Suo Ping(官律所平)", meaning the embodiment of national identification standard. It provides a valuable material for characters, calligraphy, seal art, and documents format in the study of the ancient Loulan. The writing style of the seal and a Wuzhu Coin found at the same place, suggested that the seal might be used in the Wei-Jin Dynasties, i.e., the period of the Loulan country. The location of the seal should be in an important transportation path from the ancient Loulan city to other towns. The surrounding geographical environment of the place where "Dou Jian Feng" was found and the distribution of a large number of relics, which included the official seal "Zhang Za Qian Ren Cheng Yin", coppers, potteries and Wuzhu Coins, indicated that the east, the south and the west of the Loulan city were the places where the Loulan ancestors performed the activities of production and daily living while the north part of the city was the place to conduct the sacrifice and religion activities of large scale as a plenty of tombs and temples were distributed there. It may be an important clue to discover the transportation path of the Silk Road and to reveal the ancient environment surrounding the Loulan city during that time period.
