Abstract: Based on statistics available and actual situation, this paper studies the animal husbandry development in space and time in China. The present situation of animal husbandry in China and three phases of animal husbandry in the past 20 years are analyzed ：the resumption phase, the phase in high speed and the phase with steady steps. After researching the gross output, the raise structure and the product of animal husbandry, we summarized the characteristic of spatial change in China animal husbandry, namely that stockbreeding production areas have no grest change as a whole except some parts. Finally, it is put forward that the structure of animal husbandry should be adjusted according to the resources in China. And foue main stockbreeding production areas come into being in China, they are Northeast area producing beeves, milk and eggs, Huanghuaihai area producing pork and eggs, Middle reaches of Yangtse river and Southwest area producing beeves and mutton.
