面向对象技术在GIS数据库中的应用研究

STUDY ON APPLICATION AND PRACTICE OF GIS DATABASE WITH OBJECT-ORIENTED TECHNIQUE

摘要: 地理信息系统(GIS)在国民经济和社会生活中得到了广泛的应用, 基于GIS的地理数据库是这些应用的重要组成部分。在论述地理信息系统数据库概念的基础上, 讨论了现有的空间数据模型在表现地理对象方面的优缺点, 提出应用面向对象技术来解决地理对象在地理信息系统数据库中的表示和存储, 最后, 对GIS数据库发展的趋势进行了展望。

Abstract: GIS is now widely used in many fields. In these applications, it is very important to organize and managethe spatial data well. The GIS database is a good tool for this field. The database technique has developed for along time. Meanwhile it have suceeded in many applications and there have been many large scale database producers, such as ORACLE, INFORMIX, SYBASE, DB 2 and SQL SERVER. There are many data models thatcan be used in these database, but the relational model is most popular. Though the relational model has a lot ofadvantages, it is difficult to represent sophisticated objects in the world, especially for the geographic objects. The geographic object have two kind of data: spatial data and attribute data. To attribute data, it is easy tostore in the relational database ; but to spatial data, it is difficult to do so- With the development of GIS and theapplication needs, it is required to integrate the attribute data and spatial data in one commercial DBMS. Muchresearch has been done to find a way to implement it. ARC/SDE is produced for this aim by ESRI CO, yet itdoes not work perfectly. So it is necessary for us to find a new technique to solve the problem. Object orientedtechnique will serve it well and it continue developing to a perfect level. Object oriented technique becomes morepopular for 00 PL and Database now. It is excellent to use 0 bject Data Model for representing the object in theworld, especially for GIS Database.It is proved that it is benefit to use the 0 bject—Oriented 'Technique in a lotof application work. At last, the paper discuss the trends of the Geodat abase.
