Abstract: Located in the Yili valley in the western part of Xinjiang Yili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture has an area of about 56, 000 km2, and the people of 13 main nationalities, such as Han, Uygur, Kazak, Mongol, and Xibe, live here. Yili region is rich in tourist resources, the long historical and cultural origins, splendid historical sites, distinctive folk customs, magnificent sceneries, ice-snow capped mountains, azure alpine lakes, vast forests. boundless grasslands, etc. make your thoughts fly to. According to the investigations and references, there are currently 134 scenic areas (sites) in Yili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture, among them 8 sites are in first grade and 30 in second grade, and most of them are distributed in Huocheng County, Xinyuan County and Zhaosu County. Based on the analysis of the characteristics and market requirement of the tourist resources in Yili region, it is suggested to mainly construct the following 8 scenic areas:a. The Fruit Valley-Sayram Lake scenic area; b. Narat grassland scenic area; c. Korgas Port shopping area; d. Tangbulak hot spring convales-cent area and grassland vacationing area; e. Zhaosu Wusun old kingdom's pasture-cultural sceinc area; f. Yili general's garrison relics area; g. Qurdenning forest exploration and vacationing area; and h. Xiata ancient scientific investigation and exploration area. Meanwhile, it is suggest to open a golden tourist route, four tourist routes in first grade and eight local tourist routes.
