Estimates of the middle Holocene Precipitation for Daihai Basin,China, Based on Lake-level Data---Introduction of a new techinique estimated paleo-precipitation based on lake-level data

Abstract: In 1980s A. M. Swain, J. E. Kutzbach and S. Hasternrath have developed a techinique estimated paleo-precipitation based on lake-level data. In this paper we make a introduction of the techinique to Chinese researchers and use it estimating precipitation in the period 8000-5100Yr BPin the Daihai Lake basin. The calculation result shows that the annual precipitation was at least 43 per cent( +188 mm )higher in that period than today in the Daihai Lake region.
