Abstract: By using data of mean wind and temperature obtained from a 32 m tower at the Tarim water balancing experimental Station, the vertical distribution of mean wind and oasis had been analyzed in this paper, the result shows that inversion is the main characteristic of the vertical distribution of temperature both winter and summer.
Based on the similarity hypothesis of profiles between wind and temperature of Monin and Obukhov, the diabatic mean profile forms in the surface layer are studied. It is found, concordantly from the observational data of Tarim, that the logarithmic law of wind profile is valid for Ri values between -0.10 and +0.25 , which includes a small range of slight unstable and a wide range of slight stable conditions. In stable conditions for Ri values between +0.25 and +1.00 , the log-linear law of wind profile is valid according to the profile relationships of E. K. Webb. The extension of profile relationships to strong stable conditions, for Ri>1.00 , shows that the log-linear law of wind profile is not valid according to that of E. K. Webb.
