Abstract: There are different geologic hazards, such as earthquake, flooding, landslide, mudflow, mass-wasting and dust storm, etc, widely existing at the developing region of the alluvial fan of Kuitun River. As an oasis city developed at a sensitive and unstable open system in aridland, the hazards may occure more frequently because of the triggering of human activity, and other new hazards, such as subsidence, sinking hole and ground cracks, etc, may be resulted in. Great attention should be paid to the regional protection from the hazard and hazard control in order to reduce the damage of the hazard. It is necessary to let everyone know the danger of the hazard and give a consideration of hazard to their every decision. The regions can be envalued in terms of hazard intensity and saftibility by endangering pattern study and influncing limitation study of the different hazards. These data are important to the regional planning. To control the hazard the first is to set up an observational and precautionary system after detail investigation and high level study of the local characteristics of the mechanism, developing process and endangering process of the different hazards, then to design and place a necessary construction at certain place.
