Abstract: The significance of ancient weathering crusts for seeking resources of golddust mine and surface jewel mine in Altai Mountains was discussed in this paper. Altai Mountains being famous for jewel production in china and widely distributing profound ancient weathering crusts, contain abundant jewel resources derivating from multifarious mechanisms. In fact, the ancient weathering crusts with gold and oxide zones of gold veins are very important in source and forming mechanisms of golddust and crucial conditions of goldmine formation in Altai Mountains. Furthermore, it is of major theoretical meaning and markedly economical benefits to seek the surface jewel mine resources relation to ancient weathering crusts.
