Abstract: Hami Prefecture is located in the eastern part of Xinjiang Uygur Autonmous Region.It was the communications hub to connect the Western Regions with the Central Plains，and the north route and new north route of the Silk Road passed through Hami Prefecture and stretched to all the Western Region，West Asia and Middl Asia.Tianshan Mountains divides Xinjiang into two parts，i.e.north Xinjiang and south Xinjiang.Hami City is located in south Xinjiang and possesses the geomorphologic units of sand deserts，gobi deserts，oases，mountainous regions ect.Barkol Kazak Autonomous County and Yiwu County under the prefecture's jurisdiction are located in north Xinjiang and possess the geomorphologic units of mountainous regions，basins，grasslands，etc.Hami Prefecture is rich in tourist resources with 71 units in 6 complete types.Based on the investigation of the tourist resources in Hami Prefecture，the features of types and distribution of the tourist resources are discussed in the paper，and the tourist resources in the whole prefecture is divided into four parts including the scenic tourist area of Tianshan Mountains，Hami suburban tourist area，Barkol tourist area of the minority nationalities'conditions and customs，and exploration and tourist area of sand deserts and gobi deserts.The near-future，mesofuture and far-future plans of development of tourist resources are carried out，and a construction contemplation of the local tourist network is put forward.
