Abstract: In this paper, the land resources of the sandy area around the Great Wall in North shanxi province are discussed as follows:
The characters of the essential factors affecting land resources, inclu-ding climate, landform, hydrology and soil are analysed and the impact of human activities and exploitation are considered.
A detailed study was made of the land structure and land functions. The land structure and the land functions enlable four land resource areas to be ideatified. In each land resources area, the utilizational trend, arrange-ment and management of land resources are described.
