Abstract: According to the new statistics of Glacier Inventory of China， there are 58,700 km² of glacier area in China，of which 49% is concentrated around the Northwest arid area，29% in the sources of big rivers on the edge of Qinghai-xizang plateau．The Glacier Inventory of China has been done in acco-rdance with the river system，thereafter，this text have anew counted the glacier area in accordance with the mountain range．The Kunlun mountain having the largest area of glacier in China，is about 21% of all the glaciers in China．The next is the Himalaya mountain and Tianshan mountain．The glaciers in China concentrate around the highest peaks and become a few glaciation centre．All the area of glacier of glaciation centre is 26% of the glaciers in China．The distribution of snow line height and glacier type is greatly influenced by ther latitude and the precipitation and the topography condition．
