Abstract: Xinjiang province is one of the most active area of earthquake in China. Since 1765, North of Tianshan mountain has occured 49 times earthquake of magnitude >6, and 73.6% of them is in the industrial belt of the foot of the mountain； 46 times earthquake of magnitude >6 have been occured in South of Tianshan Mountain, and 84.7% of them is in the industrial belt. The Western region of Urumqi city has a Well-developed industry and the region between Urumqi and Wusu city will be a major developing industry region but is high intensity earthquake area and is probably to be occured large-scale earthquake. The paper proposed that some measure must be performed to deepen people the consciousness about carthguake hazard.
